Support for Life’s Transitions & Conversion

Support for Life’s Transitions & Conversion

Sensitive and compassionate rabbinic guidance for the momentous transitions of life—birth, conversion, marriage, the end of life, and more.

Rabbi Dov brings many years of experience supporting individuals and families through major life changes. He works closely with each person to understand their unique story, helping them draw on Jewish wisdom as they navigate the emotional and spiritual landscape of a significant life transition.

His goal is to make these moments opportunities for reflection, growth, and deeper meaning.

Mentoring Individuals Seeking Conversion to Judaism

Conversion to Judaism typically involves at least a year of study, reflection, and guidance. Rabbi Dov warmly welcomes those exploring this significant step and follows longstanding rabbinic principles — he is supportive but never pressures or proselytizes.

He explains expectations, requirements, and time commitments clearly. Over his career, he has mentored more than 500 individuals who now lead engaged and committed Jewish lives.

Counseling Engaged Couples & Officiating at Wedding Ceremonies

Rabbi Dov provides thoughtful pre‑marital counseling for couples preparing for marriage, helping them reflect deeply on their relationship and prepare for the future.

He also teaches couples about Jewish wedding rituals and offers meaningful options for shaping their ceremony under the huppah.

Arranging Jewish Divorce Proceedings (Get)

Working with the Rabbinical Assembly Beit Din in Los Angeles, Rabbi Dov assists individuals seeking a Jewish divorce. A civil divorce decree is required before beginning the process.

He helps couples and individuals navigate the procedures for obtaining a Get with sensitivity and respect.

Preparing Families for the End of Life

When a loved one is nearing the end of life, each situation is unique. Rabbi Dov works closely with families to understand their needs and determine the appropriate level of pastoral and ritual support.

He encourages families to contact him as early as possible to ensure guidance through this delicate period.

Supporting Families Through Grief & Mourning

Rabbi Dov brings extensive experience accompanying families through grief.

He facilitates all aspects of Jewish end‑of‑life rituals, including coordination with the Hevre Kaddisha, oversight of funeral and burial rites, and support in creating a comforting and meaningful shivah.

Celebrating the Arrival of Jewish Newborns

Rabbi Dov delights in helping families welcome their newborns into the Jewish covenant.

He collaborates closely with the mohel for Brit Milah and helps families craft a beautiful and personalized Simchat Bat ceremony for baby girls.

Helping Young People Create a Personalized Bar or Bat Mitzvah

Although he is not affiliated with a synagogue, Rabbi Dov works with young people who wish to design a meaningful and individualized Bar or Bat Mitzvah ceremony.

He encourages families to obtain basic Jewish education—through a synagogue or equivalent experience—as preparation for shaping a personalized ritual.
