My Story

I decided to become a rabbi during high school after serving as a Big Brother for a 5-year-old boy who had no father. I was ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary (Conservative Movement) and am a member in good standing of the Rabbinical Assembly of America. Over my rabbinic career I have served in congregational settings and in innovative Jewish organizations. I have served as a rabbi in Southern California, Seattle, Washington, Alaska, and New Mexico.

My Teachers and Influences

My teachers include Rabbi David Hartman, of blessed memory, of the Shalom Hartman Institute of Jerusalem, Rabbi Art Green, and Rabbi Elliot Dorph. I am a student of the teachings of Maimonides, Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, and Rabbi Jonathan Sacks.

Personal

I am the father of three children: Zachary, Moriel, and Fay. I'm a passionate baseball fan and love to sing Shabbat table songs with people whenever I can.

Serving New Mexico

Through organizations like Shabbat With Friends New Mexico and the New Mexico Independent Minyan, I bring Jews together for meaningful celebration, learning, and connection throughout Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and communities across New Mexico.
